How to Connect Your YouTube Channel in Aspire

Guide to connecting your brand's YouTube channel to Aspire to unlock YouTube Creator Partnership features

Written by Heather Clark

Connect your brand's YouTube channel to Aspire to unlock YouTube Creator Partnership features, including non-public video metrics, creator video tagging, and video boosting through Google Ads.

Before You Start

  • You'll need access to the Google account that owns or manages your brand's YouTube channel. Learn more about channel permissions here.

  • This is a one-time setup at the workspace level — once connected, your channel is used across all future YouTube campaigns.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → YouTube.

  2. Click Connect.

  3. In the modal that appears, click Sign in with Google.

Check the consent box: "Automatically create YouTube Creator PartnershipBrandConnect campaigns for all campaigns with YouTube deliverables." (This is checked by default.)

  4. You'll be redirected to Google to sign in and authorize Aspire.

  5. After authorization, you’ll be redirected back to Aspire. If the connection was successful, your YouTube account will display “Connected” on the YouTube Settings page. Your channel name, handle, and subscriber count will also appear for confirmation.

Managing Your Connection

  • Change channel: To use a different YouTube channel, disconnect the current one and connect the new one.

  • Disconnect: Go to Settings → Integrations → Youtube, then click Disconnect. This won't affect existing campaigns but new campaigns won't have YouTube Creator Partnership features available.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I don't connect my YouTube channel?

You'll be reminded each time you create a campaign with YouTube deliverables. You can still create campaigns without connecting, but Creator Partnership features (video tagging, non-public metrics, boosting) won't be available.

Can I connect multiple YouTube channels?

Currently, one YouTube channel can be connected per workspace. If you need to use a different channel, disconnect the current one and connect the new one.

Can the same YouTube channel be connected to multiple Aspire accounts?

Yes, the same YouTube channel can be connected to multiple Aspire accounts. However, the same email address cannot be used to authorize the connection across all accounts.

I'm receiving this error: "Cannot add to client: XYZ. Resource {email address} is attached with clientId: XYZ". How can I resolve this?

Since YouTube channel authorization uses Google OAuth — which is also used for Aspire’s Gmail integration — Gmail users who have access to multiple Aspire accounts may encounter issues when connecting a YouTube channel.

For users with access to multiple Aspire accounts:

If your email address is already connected for the Gmail integration in one Aspire account, you will not be able to use that same email address to connect a YouTube channel in a different Aspire account.

For example:

If [email protected] is connected to Account A for the Gmail integration, and that email has Manager access to your brand’s YouTube channel, you cannot use [email protected] to connect that YouTube channel to Account B.

Instead, you will need to either:

  • Have a team member whose email is connected to Account B complete the YouTube connection, or

  • Use a different email address that has access to the YouTube channel and has not already been connected to another Aspire account.

During the connection process, we unchecked the option to automatically create YouTube Creator Partnerships campaigns. What does this mean?

When this setting is disabled, you’ll still be able to send a brief with YouTube deliverables, but a prompt will appear when sending a brief. At that point, you can select “Continue with channel” to enable deal reporting for that specific campaign. If you proceed without connecting a channel, Creator Partnerships features—such as video tagging, non-public performance metrics, and boosting—will not be available.

During the connection process, we unchecked the option to automatically create YouTube Creator Partnerships campaigns. How can we enable this setting?

To enable this setting, you’ll need to disconnect your YouTube channel and then reconnect it with the “Automatically create YouTube Creator Partnerships campaigns” option enabled.

During the connection process, we checked the option to automatically create YouTube Creator Partnerships campaigns. Does this apply to all existing and new campaigns, or new campaigns only?

New campaigns only.
