When a creator signs a brief for a campaign with YouTube Creator Partnerships enabled, a YouTube deal is automatically created in YouTube. This allows the creator to link their videos to the campaign in YouTube Studio and unlocks access to non-public video metrics in your Social Dashboard.
How It Works
Add a creator to a campaign where YouTube Creator Partnerships is enabled.
Send a brief that includes at least one YouTube deliverable. The brief may also include deliverables from other platforms.
The creator must connect their YouTube channel before they can sign the brief.
The brief will display a “Connect YouTube” button. The creator will complete Google OAuth authorization to connect their channel, then they will be redirected back to the brief.
After connecting, Aspire checks if the creator has enabled Channel Insights Sharing. If not, they'll see a prompt to enable it in YouTube Studio. This is optional and doesn't block signing.
Once the creator signs the brief, a YouTube deal is automatically created in the background.
A campaign code is shown in the creator portal on the content submission page. The creator uses this code when linking videos in YouTube Studio.
Channel Insights Sharing (Optional)
To access detailed channel-level analytics (e.g., audience demographics and engagement data) in Aspire, creators must enable Channel Insights Sharing in YouTube Studio.
Creators are prompted to enable this after connecting YouTube, but it is not required to sign a brief.
If a creator hasn't enabled this setting, you can ask them to follow these steps:
Go to YouTube Studio (desktop only).
Click Settings → Channel → Advanced settings.
Enable "Allow advertisers, brands, and third-party platforms to view channel insights".
Click Save.
You can also share this direct link to the settings page within YouTube Studio: http://studio.youtube.com/?d=ycdsd
Deal Updates
If you update the details of a brief (video count, payment, due dates, etc.) while a deal is active, the changes are automatically synced to YouTube.
Note: The creator's YouTube channel and the campaign cannot be changed on an existing deal. If the wrong creator channel was used, you'll need to cancel the brief and send a new one after updating the creator's YouTube channel on their profile within the Contact hub.
Deal Closure
Action | What happens |
Complete deal | Aspire automatically marks the deal as complete when all deliverables in the brief have been completed. |
Cancel deal | Aspire automatically cancels the deal if the creator is removed from the project or the brief is canceled. This is irreversible. |
Reactivate deal | If a completed deal needs changes (e.g., additional video), you can reactivate it by editing the brief. This is only possible from the "Complete" state — cancelled deals cannot be recovered. |
