Create a Brief Template

Save yourself time by setting up a brief template for your campaigns

Written by Ana Lopez

Creating a default Brief template helps streamline your workflow by pre-filling collaboration details every time you send a brief. You can customize a template for each campaign, saving time while maintaining consistency across creator partnerships.

Note: The Briefs tab within Campaign Settings is only available if the Briefs stage has been added to your campaign workflow. If you don't see the Briefs tab, first add the Briefs stage to your workflow. See How to Edit Your Workflow Stages for instructions.

Step 1: Select a Default Brief Type

  1. Open your campaign.

  2. Navigate to Settings > Briefs.

  3. Select your default brief type.

  4. Click Edit Template to customize the brief.

Not sure which Brief type is right for your campaign? See Standard vs Flexible Briefs for a detailed comparison.

Note: Flexible Briefs are currently in beta and are only available for select accounts. If the feature isn't enabled for your workspace, continue with the Standard Brief setup below. To request access to Flexible Briefs, contact [email protected].

Step 2: Customize Your Brief Template

The sections available in your template depend on the Brief type you've selected. Although you'll choose a default template for your campaign, you can still switch to the other Brief type when sending an individual Brief if needed.

🚨 Important: Before editing your Brief template, make sure you've connected an email address to your Aspire account. Without a connected email, you won't be able to save your template, and any changes you've made will be lost 🥺

Standard Brief Template

The Standard Brief template includes the following sections. Each section can also be customized when sending a Brief or making edits during Brief negotiations.

Content Deliverable

This section changes dynamically based on the deliverables you've selected and includes four configurable subsections:

  1. Content Guidelines – Displays the content guideline template you've selected. You can edit the guidelines directly from the Brief template.

  2. Branded Content – Available for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube deliverables. Enable this if creators are required to use the branded content label.

  3. Content Approval – Require creators to submit content for review before publishing.

  4. Deliverable Labels and Due Dates – Customize the deliverable title and specify when content must be submitted and published.

Compensation

Select one or more compensation types: Payment, Free Product, Commission, or No Compensation.

Content Usage Rights

Specify the content usage rights you'd like to request and the duration of those rights (3 months, 6 months, 1 year, or Custom).

Ads Permissions

You can optionally request any of the following permissions:

  • Instagram Paid Partnership Ads

  • Instagram Allowlisting

  • TikTok Spark Ads

  • YouTube Paid Partnership Ads

Influencer Insights

Require creators to connect their Instagram Insights. Note: Instagram Insights are required whenever an Instagram Story deliverable is included.

Additional Terms and Conditions

Include one or more custom legal terms configured for your workspace. See Additional Terms and Conditions for more information.

Prevent Creators from Editing the Briefs

Enable this option to prevent creators from requesting changes before accepting the Brief.

Email Template

Customize the email creators receive when you send a Brief. You can edit the template here or later under Workspace Settings > Message Templates.

Flexible Briefs

Flexible Briefs include the following sections. Like Standard Briefs, these settings can also be updated when sending a Brief or making edits during Brief negotiations.

Intro

Add an introductory message that provides context for the collaboration.

Content Requirements

Select the content types creators can choose from and set the minimum number of required deliverables. You can also require creators to complete deliverables within a specified number of days after accepting the Brief.

Content Guidelines

Unlike Standard Briefs, Flexible Briefs use a single set of content guidelines that applies to all eligible content types, making setup faster and easier.

Compensation

Choose one or more compensation methods:

  • Payment

  • Free Product

  • Commission

  • No Compensation

Compensation can still be adjusted when sending individual Briefs or during negotiations.

Content Usage Rights

Specify the content usage rights you'd like to request and the duration of those rights (3 months, 6 months, 1 year, or Custom).

Content Agreement

This section contains Aspire's standard creator agreement and cannot be edited.

Additional Terms and Conditions

Include one or more custom legal terms configured for your workspace. See Additional Terms and Conditions for more information.

Email Template

Customize the email creators receive when you send a Brief. You can edit the template here or later under Workspace Settings > Message Templates.

Once you've saved your template, the selected settings will automatically populate each time you send a Brief for that campaign. You can still customize any section for individual creators before sending.
