Overview of the permissions requested to connect your Instagram and Meta accounts to Aspire

Aspire’s integration with Meta goes beyond capturing mentions of your brand's handle on Instagram. It also gives you the ability to run Paid Partnership ads, capture ads data, and reach creators through IG Direct Messaging. Below is a breakdown of the permissions required to connect your Instagram and Meta accounts to Aspire to utilize these features.

@ Mention Listening

Capture brand mentions by creators across posts, stories, captions, and Partnership Content by enabling the following permissions during the authorization flow:

Tag Mentions

  • Access your profile and post from the Instagram account connected to your page.

  • Manage comments from the Instagram account connected to your page.

  • Read content posted on the page.

  • Show a list of the Pages you manage.

Story Mentions

  • Access your profile and post from the Instagram account connected to your page.

  • Manage and access messages for the Instagram account connected to your page.

  • Manage accounts, settings, and webhooks for a page.

  • Manage and access page conversations in Messenger.

Caption Mentions

  • Access your profile and post from the Instagram account connected to your page.

  • Manage comments from the Instagram account connected to your page.

  • Read content posted on the page.

  • Show a list of the Pages you manage.

Paid Partnership Mentions

  • Access your profile and post from the Instagram account connected to your page.

  • Lets accounts request permission to run partnership ads and view Instagram posts they've been tagged in as a paid partner.


Instagram Direct Messaging

Invite creators to projects and communicate through Instagram Direct Messages. In order to use this feature, your brand's Instagram account must be eligible for Instagram's Creator Marketplace.

To enable Direct Messaging on Aspire, you will need to log into your brand's Instagram account and turn on “Allow access to messages” under Connected Tools. See this video for instructions.

The following permissions must also be enabled during the authorization flow in order to receive and reply to Direct Messages:

  • Access your profile and post from the Instagram account connected to your page.

  • Manage and access messages for the Instagram account connected to your page.

  • Manage accounts, settings, and webhooks for a Page.

  • Manage and access Page conversations in Messenger.

  • Access Instagram's creator marketplace with the Instagram accounts you selected.


Ads Permissions

Request permission from creators to create ads from UGC and boost their posts.

The following permissions are required to request Branded Content and Paid Partnership ad access from creators:

  • Manage ads for ad accounts that you have access to.

  • Manage your business.

  • Access your profile and posts from the Instagram account connected to your page.

  • Let's account request permission to run partnership ads and view Instagram posts they've been tagged in as a paid partner.

  • Access or modify an Instagram creator's branded content setting.


Ads Insights

Access Meta Ads Performance data by enabling the following permission and selecting your Ad Account(s).

  • View ads from ad accounts that you have access to


Create Ads

Create ads from existing Instagram posts where the creator has tagged your brand's handle as a paid partner.

The following permissions are required to create Meta ads using Aspire's CreatorAds suite:

  • Manage ads for ad accounts that you have access to

  • Access or modify a Instagram brands branded content settings

  • Access or modify a Instagram creators branded content settings

  • Lets accounts request permission to run branded content ads and view Instagram posts they’ve been tagged in as a paid partner.
