When creating your campaign you'll want to make a content guidelines template for each type of content you'll be asking your creators to create during your campaign.
These guideline templates will serve as the backbone to your collaboration terms with influencers so you'll want to make sure they cover all of your needs for each piece of content. For instance you can request that they show the label of your product so that you can repurpose the content on your own social accounts.
These guidelines will also be what you use when requesting edits from influencers, in order to request changes during the review process you must have the related feedback outlined in your terms. For instance if your guidelines don't say that they must shoot outdoors, you can't require a reshoot if someone shoots your outdoor product in their house.
Knowing that you'll be using them to review content, it can be easy for a brand to see each section of the template and think, “ I’m going to add as much detail as possible here.” However, we also want to ensure that our brands are striking the right balance of creating enough structure for influencers, but also offering some leeway for creative control.
A template that includes too many commands, such as this example below, may not offer enough space for creators to do what they do - create.
Instead try lifting some of your parameters a bit! The great thing about the Aspire platform, is that you will be in constant communication with all of the creators that you work with, by using our customer relationship management tool. Which means, you will always be able to request adjustments to the content, if needed!
A template that focuses less on the creative details and more on the things that you'd reject in a review process (bad lighting/label of product not showing) is much better in the grand scheme of developing long term relationships with amazing creators.
Always remember though, your content guidelines should still contain enough information that creators understand what is expected of them. If the template has too little information, you might receive content back that will require a fair amount of edits, which at the end of the day, is more work for you and them.
The overall takeaway here is to have a friendly and approachable tone with your guidelines, and to outline enough of a structure for creators to create some aesthetically pleasing content for you!
