What is TikTok Spark Ads?

TikTok Spark Ads allow you to use organic TikTok posts as paid ads. By turning real TikTok posts into ads, Spark Ads ensure that engagement metrics (views, comments, shares, likes, and follows) generated by the boosted video are attributed to the original post.

With Spark Ads, you can run ads in two ways:

  • Using posts from your own TikTok account

  • Using organic posts from creators (with their authorization)

How it Works

Expand the steps below for an overview of how the integration works.

Step 1: Connect your TikTok Ad Account

To begin, connect your TikTok ad account to Aspire. This integration enables you to easily request ad access from creators, streamlining the process of using their content in your Spark Ads campaigns.

  1. Log into Aspire and click your initials in the bottom left corner, then select Integrations.

  2. Under Integrations on the left menu, click TikTok.

  3. Click Add TikTok Ad Account.

  4. You'll be prompted to log into your TikTok for Business Account if you're not already logged in. Review the permissions requested, then click Confirm to authorize access to Aspire. We recommend keeping all permissions enabled for the integration to work properly.

  5. You'll be redirected back to Aspire and if the connection was successful, you will see your Ad Account listed under Connected TikTok Ad Accounts.

Step 2: Send Briefs to Creators

Next, create and send briefs to creators for Spark Ads authorization.

  1. When sending briefs, select TikTok Video as a content requirement.

    Note: You can request Spark Ads authorization by sending briefs in bulk to multiple creators or individually, one creator at a time.

  2. Under the “Ads Permissions” section of the brief, you’ll see an option to request TikTok Spark Ads authorization. Simply check the box labeled “Creator must grant access to TikTok Spark Ads.”

3. From the dropdown next to "Authorization Period," select how long you want Spark Ads authorization to last (7, 30, 60, or 365 days).

Note: Unless you disable creators from editing the brief, the creator will be able to remove Ad Permissions and change the Authorization Period.

Step 3: Creator Accepts Brief and Uploads Post

  1. Creators will receive the brief with the Spark Ads request included, along with all other brief details.

  2. Once they accept the brief, their TikTok content becomes eligible for Spark Ads.

  3. The creator will produce the content and follow the steps in this article to post it as Branded Content on TikTok.

  4. Once the post is live, they’ll copy the link and upload it either through their Brief or via the Aspire Creator Portal.

Step 4: Boost Post in TikTok Ads Manager

Once the post is live and the creator uploads it through their Brief or the Aspire Creator Portal, the content will automatically appear in your TikTok Ads Manager under Spark Ads posts.

From there, you can use the post to create Spark Ads and enhance your ad campaigns.
