We’re excited to introduce our Instagram Story Mention Listening feature! 🎉
Capturing Instagram Story mentions can be tricky when creators aren't authenticated with Aspire. To solve this, we’ve launched a new integration to help you track story mentions from both authenticated and non-authenticated creators—including those with non-professional creator accounts.
This update also gives you estimated metrics for Story mentions from non-authenticated creators that would otherwise go untracked, so you can measure potential reach, impressions, and social impact more accurately.
How It Works
Once you connect your brand’s Instagram account to Aspire and grant the proper permissions, we'll be able to:
Capture story mentions from creators who haven't authenticated their Instagram Insights with Aspire or don’t have a professional Instagram account
Provide estimated impressions and reach values for these mentions
Include these insights in your Social Analytics and Impact dashboards
Instagram Story mentions will be captured in the Recruit > Mentions tab, as well as within your Instagram Direct Message Inbox on Aspire.

Estimated impressions for Instagram Stories will appear in the following areas:
Social Analytics → Reports → Posts
Instagram Stories from non-authenticated creators will show estimated impressions. A tooltip will be shown to clarify this value is estimated.
Social Analytics → Reports → Breakdown
A dedicated column will show Estimated Impressions.
Member Profile → Social Posts
Stories from non-authenticated creators will have an estimated impression value with a tooltip indicating it’s an estimation.
Will estimated impressions be factored into our Impact Value within the Impact Dashboard?

Yes, estimated impressions are included in the Awareness Value, which contributes to your overall Impact Value.
Will Stories captured by Mention Listening appear in Social Analytics?

Instagram Story mentions will only appear in your Social Analytics dashboard if one of the following conditions is met:
The post was created by a member not sourced through Mention Listening or the Shopify customer data integration
The post was created by a member sourced through Mention Listening who is already part of a project or group

Instagram Stories are typically captured within one hour of when they're posted.
Will the Story media expire 24 hours after it's posted?
Will the Story media expire 24 hours after it's posted?
Yes, if a creator has not authenticated their Instagram Insights with Aspire, the Story media and thumbnail will expire and cannot be stored after 24 hours, in accordance with Instagram’s data access rules.
To preserve Story content beyond the 24-hour window, make sure the creator has authorized their Instagram Insights with Aspire.
