How to Set Up a Link Tracking-Only Offer

This article will walk you through how to create a Link Tracking Offer and generate unique links for your members.

Written by Janine Borrega

One of the best ways to measure the results of your influencer and affiliate campaigns is to provide your members with a tracking link.

A tracking link is a unique URL assigned to a specific member that redirects to your website or a specific product page. When a user clicks on the link and makes a purchase, the sale will be attributed back to that member. Aside from using links to track product sales, you can also use tracking links for other conversion events, such as email signups, downloads, and form submissions.

How to add a Link Tracking Offer to your Project

  1. You will need to add the Sales tracking stage "Sales Links"

  2. Once sales tracking stages are added you can set up the offers within the stage by Clicking on Sales Links > Generate Sales Links

  3. Next, click on Set Up Offer. You can select from an existing offer or generate New Offer

How to Create a Link Tracking Offer

Step 1: OFFER SETUP

Choose an Offer type and fill out the basic information

  1. For a link tracking-only offer, select the Non-Discount Offer type.

  2. Complete the Offer Name

    • Name of the product, service or promotion being offered. You can also name your offers by project, group, or type of member. We recommend using a straightforward name that your members will understand.

      • Examples: Black Friday Cyber Monday Sale, Ambassadors, VIP Influencers

  3. Description (optional and internal)

    • A short description of the offer. This is for internal purposes only and will not be visible to members.

  4. Image (optional)

Step 2: CONFIGURE

Set up your affiliate link tracking and configure advanced settings

Tracking Link

  1. Tracking Method: This setting tells the server how to track a user’s click and conversion. Learn more about the conversion tracking methods we support here.

    • If you are unsure, you can select Javascript Postback!

  2. Conversion Type: Conversions will be selected by default

    • Conversions: when a customer completes a purchase or intended action

    • Lead generation: Lead generation forms are typically utilized on a landing page with some sort of “offer” to entice the user to fill out a form and provide their contact information. The visitor becomes a lead and the conversion is tracked when they submit the form.

    • Email submits: customers who make it to the email signup confirmation page

    • Downloads: app downloads

  3. Offer URL Tracking: The primary destination for your creators' unique links!

  4. If you are using a different affiliate marketing integration such as Impact, CJ, or Awin, tick the box that says This tracking URL was generated through an affiliate platform outside of Aspire and select the specific integration you are using.

Step 4: REVIEW

Review the offer information and set up; make necessary adjustments. Once you're happy, click Create Offer at the bottom.

Add Members to the Offer

Once the Offer is complete, you are now ready to Generate Links for creators. You can add directly from the Offer or head back to the project's Sales Link stage.

Option 1: Directly from the Offer

When you're ready to generate links, click Add Members. You will see a list of all the members within your Aspire account. To filter by a specific project, click the drop-down menu where it says "All Projects" and select a project.
Select the members you want to generate a link for.

If your Offer has multiple payout options, you can customize the payout option per member at this point or keep the default payout option. Optionally, you may choose to add a deep link during this step. Once everything looks good, click Generate Links.

The links will be automatically generated. You can email members their link by clicking the ellipsis icon (…) and selecting Email Members.

Option 2: From the Sales Link stage

If your offer is connected to a project, you can generate links from the Sales Link stage. Go to the Sales Link stage, select 1 or more creators or affiliates, then click Generate Sales Links. Once generated, you can send the offer details in the Send Sales Links substage.

Before adding members to the Offer to generate links, please ensure you have implemented one of Aspire's conversion tracking methods.

If offer visibility is enabled, creators or affiliates can access their offer details within their Affiliate Performance Dashboard.
