How to Upgrade Your Sales Tracking Offers

How to transition all of your existing offers to our latest sales tracking capabilities

We recently upgraded our Sales Tracking capabilities to bring you a whole set of new features. In order to utilize these capabilities and add new members to an offer or make any edits, you must upgrade your existing offers by following the steps below.

πŸ“£ Important: This is a one-time upgrade per offer and the changes cannot be reversed. If you have multiple offers, you will need to upgrade each offer individually. Moving forward, any new offers created will automatically include the latest capabilities.

How to Upgrade Promo Code Offers

Before you begin, please review the chart below to understand what will happen to existing promo codes during the upgrade process, depending on the code status and active date setting you select (custom dates per code or unified dates).

Custom Dates Per Code

Unified Dates

Active

  • Each promo code within the offer will be recreated and assigned to individual discount groups in Shopify

  • The Shopify discount groups associated with the offer will be marked as "Expired" in your Shopify admin and the codes within those groups will be deleted

  • The active and end dates for the codes will remain the same

  • Each promo code within the offer will be recreated and assigned to one discount group in Shopify

  • The Shopify discount groups associated with the offer will be marked as "Expired" in your Shopify admin and the codes within those groups will be deleted

  • The date and time you upgrade the offer will become the active date for all codes

Expired

  • Expired codes will be deleted from Shopify along with their discount group and will not be recreated

  • The status for expired codes will change to "deactivated" within the offer

  • Expired codes will be deleted from Shopify along with their discount group and will not be recreated

  • The status for expired codes will change to "deactivated" within the offer

Deactivated

  • The codes will be deleted from Shopify along with their discount group and will not be recreated

  • The status will remain "deactivated" within the offer

  • The codes will be deleted from Shopify along with their discount group and will not be recreated

  • The status will remain "deactivated" within the offer

Upcoming

  • The codes will be deleted from Shopify along with their discount group

  • Each promo code within the offer will be recreated and assigned to individual discount groups in Shopify

  • The active and end dates for the codes will remain the same

  • Some codes within the offer are upcoming:

    • All codes will be deleted from Shopify along with their discount group, then recreated under one discount group

    • The active dates for upcoming codes will be updated to match the offer's active date

  • All codes within the offer are upcoming:

    • All codes will be deleted from Shopify along with their discount group, then recreated under one discount group

    • We will use the earliest active date as the new active date for these codes

Failed

  • No action will be taken

  • No action will be taken

When you're ready to proceed, watch this quick video or follow the written steps below.

Directions:

  1. Click into an existing Promo code Offer and select "Upgrade Now" within the banner at the top.


2. You will be prompted with a pop-up message that provides an overview of the new capabilities. Click "Continue" to proceed.

3. Select how you prefer to organize your promo codes and manage active dates. You can select the same active dates for all the codes in the offer or customize the dates for individual codes. This will affect how the codes are grouped in your Shopify Discounts tab.

  • If you select "Set unified dates for all codes", then the promo codes within this offer will be grouped under one Discount Group within Shopify and share the same active dates. The discount group name will use the format "[Aspire] Promo Code Group Name-Offer Name".

  • If you select "Customize dates for each code", then each individual promo code will have its own unique discount group within Shopify. The discount group names will follow the format "[Aspire] Promo Code Group Name-Code Name".

Note: You will have the ability to update this setting at any time by going to your Offer Settings.

4. Click "Upgrade Now" when you're ready to proceed. It may take a few minutes for all of the codes to be migrated.


How to Upgrade Link Tracking Offers

Directions:

  1. Click into an existing Link Tracking Offer and select "Upgrade Now" within the banner at the top.
    ​

  2. You will be prompted with a pop-up message that provides an overview of the new features. Click "Continue" to proceed.
    ​

  3. Once the offer has been upgraded, click on "Offer Settings" to begin setting up multiple payout options, if desired. For more information on setting up multiple payouts, check out this help article.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if we do not upgrade an existing offer?

Any offers that have not been upgraded will continue to work. We will still capture conversions and calculate commissions. However, you will not be able to add new members to the offer or make any edits to the offer settings.
